Coach Review (Manual Mode)
Asynchronous Grandmaster Mentorship: Submit Your Analysis & Receive Personalized Feedback
Think like a grandmaster. Analyze complex positions, write your candidate moves and evaluation rationale, and submit your work for personalized move-by-move evaluation from GM Swayams, GM Stany, or IM Satyapragyan.
Understanding Coach Review (Manual Mode)
Why grandmasters consider this discipline essential for tournament breakthroughs.
Coach Review is the signature, transformative learning experience of Chess Enrich. Traditional chess improvement fails because computers tell you WHAT was wrong, but never WHY your brain formed that incorrect conclusion.
In Coach Review mode, you are presented with complex, non-trivial positions. You explore variations freely on your private digital board, enter your candidate moves, write notes on pawn structures and plans, and evaluate the final position in your own words.
Once submitted, your complete analysis is assigned to our grandmaster coaches: GM Swayams Mishra, GM Stany G A, or IM Swayangsu Satyapragyan. The coach reviews your entire thinking process, grades your candidate selection, highlights tactical blind spots, and provides actionable corrective advice within 48 hours.
How Coach Review (Manual Mode) Works Step-by-Step
Follow this structured sequence to understand the exercise and retain its key chess ideas.
Receive Bi-Weekly Challenge Positions
Every Monday and Thursday, fresh master-level study positions arrive in your Coach Review queue.
Grandmaster Tip: Treat each position as an over-the-board tournament game with 20–30 minutes of deep focus.
Deep Exploration & Variation Building
Explore lines on your board. Add sub-variations, highlight candidate moves, and note piece activity advantages.
Grandmaster Tip: Always write why you rejected an appealing alternative; your coach will audit this reasoning.
Submit Candidate Moves & Evaluation Rationale
Summarize your primary continuation line, positional assessment (+/=, +/-, etc.), and strategic plan in text.
Grandmaster Tip: Be honest about what you calculated vs what was a gut feeling; that vulnerability helps the coach pinpoint your true gap.
Receive Grandmaster Evaluation & Report Card
Within 48 hours, your coach returns a graded review report with custom board diagrams, annotated refutations, and verbal voice/video notes.
Grandmaster Tip: Review your coach notes immediately and re-play the recommended continuation on a physical board for maximum retention.
Sample Scenario: What You Experience
Converting an Exchange Advantage Against Pawn Compensation
Rook vs Knight & two connected passed pawns on the queenside in the late middlegame.
Student analyzes 1... Rb8 aiming to push b-pawns, but overlooks White’s knight outpost on c5.
GM Swayams Notes: "Good instinct to mobilize your rook, but 1... Rb8 allows 2. Nc5! blockading your entire flank. You needed the prophylactic 1... a5! first to fix the pawns before attacking."
Key Takeaway: Before improving your own piece, evaluate whether your opponent can create an unbreakable blockade on your next turn.
